October Whispers
October. . . and with it, a quiet reminder from nature: growth requires release.
Mornings cooler, leaves turning, and trees teaching letting go isn’t loss.
Could letting go mean more space?
And maybe this is your season to do the same.
Midlife, or better yet: Our second act, is marked with transitions.
We poured our hearts into raising families, truly the greatest gift of our lives.
Those little people grew into big people who still take our breath away.
We raised them to want us not need us, and that changes everything.
A deep love for our partners.
Or maybe you found the strength to walk away from a marriage that left you broken and battered.
Both stories are sacred. Both deserve love and respect.
Because this season isn’t about comparing journeys.
It’s about choosing what brings us peace, joy, and wholeness in this chapter of life.
In the quiet of the house, we wonder: what’s next?
Can we shift just like that?
After years of not “me, just the kids.”
“when I lose the weight I’ll be whole.”
Can we shed old habits just like that?
Can we be bold and show up just for ourselves?
And when we do show up for ourselves, can we see the impact that one step forward has on everyone around us?
Yet, we push it away, because old beliefs and habits die hard.
nd again, in the stillness of the house, we hear old dreams calling louder than old routines.
Career shifts. Changing family dynamics.
Kids off to college. Wedding planning for new lives.
Maybe arms ready to welcome new life.
And they will call you Nana, or Grandma, or maybe even Lola.
A title you will wear with honor.
And you wonder: how many loves of your life are you allowed to have?
But here is the thing:
Living your life out loud, shedding your leaves doesn’t take away from anyone.
It adds.
A new month isn’t just a flip of the calendar.
It’s an invitation to pause and ask:
WHAT DO I WANT in this second act of life?
Waiting for life to happen can be lonely.
What truly deserves my energy right now?
What am I ready to release so I can breathe again, for me?
How do I want to show up for myself in this chapter?
How will it ripple into the lives of those I love?
That’s the question.
And it brings us back to October.
Pumpkin Spice.
Cooler Weather
Leaves falling.
Changes can be beautiful.
